Jimboomba aged care home

Jimboomba sits in the Logan area, south of Brisbane. In late 2020 we completed this huge aged care wallpaper installation there for Croft Developments, one of many retirement and aged care facilities we have papered over the years.

The scale was epic. We hung 4,000 square metres of wallpaper in the corridors alone.

Wallpapered corridors

Throughout the corridors a dado rail split the walls, with a traditional floral pattern above and a striped pattern below, running the length of every corridor in the facility. Both wallpapers were supplied by Hume Internationale.

Residents’ rooms

Each of the 54 Signature bedrooms had a feature wall of wallpaper in a timeless unpatterned style. The paper used in the rooms was a commercial grade vinyl, washable and hardwearing, the high performance finish usually specified for a project like this to ensure longevity.

Why wallpaper works in aged care

For a retirement home it is important to make the place feel welcoming and nurturing. Wallpaper softens stark white walls, adding warm colour, texture and pattern, and helps create an aesthetic with a positive impact on the residents.
